What Holds This Work Together

At the center of this work is a return to presence, imagination, and creative expression as a way of reconnecting to what is already within. Rooted in expressive arts, nature, and relational experience, it invites process over performance and listening over output, where creativity becomes a quiet path back to intrinsic possibility at every stage of life.

Why this placement works

  • The top orients people (what is this?)

  • The middle gives them choice (where do I go?)

  • The bottom gives meaning (why does this matter?)

That last section works best when it’s discovered, not front-loaded. It deepens the experience rather than introducing it.

The Root Discovery Project is offered in these branches:

  • Children - Toddler to Teen – creative play and exploration through choices of materials, styles and expressions.

  • Adults – choose your own direction through process-based sessions and explore how creative play can be your guide to insight, reflection, acceptance, exploration, creative reconnection and freedom.

  • Elders – gentle, presence-based creative engagement supporting memory, meaning, expression with creative freedom and choices and are also highly specialized and tailored for elders in all stages of life, including physical and memory limitations.

  • Groups & Workshops --

Group sessions are available for similar ages or with mixed ages.  Similar-aged groups tend to stay mindful with expressive creative freedom, while holding each other in reverence and lasting impressions.

Mixed-aged group are oftentimes a bit boistrious, with freedom and fun, yet meaningful and memorable sessions with children and adults dynamically creating together.

Workshops - these can be sessions that are designed to your specifications, and this is innovative for your group to access their creative freedom together, hence facades fade and bonds are created.

All sessions "meet-you-where-you-are", are person-centered and rooted in creative-freedom experiences. Sessions begin with mindful conversation and life/nature-based prompts.  Regardless of age, all are invited to follow what feels most aligned to them and are supported in their expression, reflection, presence and creative freedom.

The focus is on the process and what naturally emerges through making, and never on skill or outcome.  Participants are free to choose the type of mediums and surfaces they are drawn to, and are not limited to just one.  Sessions offer acrylic & watercolor paints, charcoal, pastels, markers, pencils, pens, inks, scissors, glue, charcoal, clay, with paper, canvas, wood, unique found objects, all to inspire personal freedom of discovery.  Music and movement are also invited.
